Amy Raines (born October 7, 1998) is an American social media user and minor internet personality known for her presence on the platform Twitter in 2025. Her account, @amy_raines24, attracted attention for mixing mundane daily updates with increasingly unsettling posts that contained cryptic phrases, repeated messages, and metadata anomalies.[1]

Public information about Raines’s upbringing is limited. She has referred to herself online as “just figuring things out :) coffee, music, and the shape in the wall,” a phrase circulated in online discussions of her posts. No reliable sources confirm her place of birth.[2]
Online activity
Twitter account
Raines created @amy_raines24 in early 2025. For several weeks she posted ordinary content about weather, coffee, and television. Observers later noted recurring patterns:
- Evening tweets posted consistently at 10:07 PM (UTC−4).[3]
- The phrase “just saw a cat :)” appeared three times exactly seventy‑two hours apart.
- Uploaded photos occasionally contained EXIF fields pointing to disparate geographic coordinates.
Public response
In April 2025, users on Reddit, X, and Discord compiled her posts and attempted to decode the coordinates and repeated messages, proposing theories including performance art, an ARG marketing campaign, and AI‑assisted experimentation.[4]
Disappearance of account
On May 6, 2025, the tweet history on @amy_raines24 was reportedly removed without explanation; the handle remained viewable but displayed no public posts or likes.[5]
In popular culture
- Shape in the Wall (2026), a short horror film loosely inspired by the account’s events.
- “I can hear the walls breathing,” a phrase associated with Raines, became a meme template across social platforms.
